Monday - Weather: High 81, low 62. Mostly cloudy, 60% chance of rain. Wind ESE 7.  No measurable rain in Kissimmee, but some places east of us got 1.5 inches.
At noon, Linda's cousins came for the afternoon.  (Nancy Gaffney, Carol Jacobs, Judy Burns and husband Bill) After showing them our unit at Cypress Palms and a short visit, we went to Olive Garden for lunch, and then to Celebration to show them where we spend a lot of time.  We showed them where we walk and where we sit (with our treats) and watch people, walked around downtown at the lake front, and went to have ice cream at Kilwins.  Late afternoon they left to go back to Bradenton, about an hour and a half ride.  We really enjoyed the visit - so good to see some familiar faces from back home.  Since Linda has no sisters, she thinks of her Reeves cousins as her sisters.
Tuesday - Weather: High 80, low 60. Mostly cloudy, 40% chance of rain. Wind NE 10.  Again, no rain here.
After lunch, we were going to go to the library, but that didn't happen.  I went for a short bike ride first, and had an accident.  Without the details - I didn't make a turn because I was going too fast and hit the curb, falling on my face.  (Stop laughing, it wasn't funny!)  Bad abasions on my face just right of my nose and on my right hand, small abrasions other places like nose, upper lip, and legs.  The worse thing is my front left tooth and the one next to it got pushed back so I couldn't bite down.  By the time I got up, 4 or 5 cars had stopped, several people got out and tried to convince me they should call an ambulance, but I declined.  Several people offered assistance and gave me kleenix because I was bleeding a lot.  Several people offered to take me back to our resort, so I rode with a nice couple from MI.  (I'm always amazed at how many kind people there are who show lots of concern when you're in need.) After getting the bleeding mostly stopped, we asked the resort for the name of a dentisit, and they gave us a brochure with a number to call for dentists or doctors - they are prepared for this!  So I made an appointment for the morning at a dentist in Celebration, whose office we have walked by many times.  No surprise - we didn't make it to the library. After taking Tylenol, I slept fairly well.
Wednesday - Weather: High 78, low 61. Partly cloudy. Wind NNE 10.
We went to a nice dentist office where the receptionist and the nurse were very nice, very friendly, and the dentist (contrary to my fears) was very professional, very nice, and good at moving my teeth back in place (with very little pain involved). He told me it is likely that I will need a root canal eventually because of the damage to the root, but it might be several weeks at the earliest or likely longer, and if I'm lucky, maye it will be okay.  Then we went to the library (finally) and home for lunch. I'm a little sore, especially my chest, and my abrasions hurt, but taking Advil helps.  Mid-afternoon we went back to Celebration for our usual treats, sat and read, and Linda took a walk around lake 1.  While she was gone, I started talking to a man from Nova Scotia who had parked his bike nearby and asked if we thought it would not get stolen while he went into Starbucks.  When he came back, we had a long visit, discussing many topics (other than my obvious injuries!)  Home for supper.

AROUND WYNDHAM CYPRESS PALMS

Near the check-in center

All of the buildings are 5 floors high.  Lots of sabal  palms around.

The south and west edges of the resort are bordered by a woods.

Even the hedges have pretty blooms.

Several of my favorites around, date palms.  They frequently have ferns growing on the trunks just below the fronds.

Coconut palm, I think, with long fronds.

Looking into one of the interior courtyards.

Have to have one bird picture!! On the north side of the resort, there is a large pond.  Don't see water birds very often (other than ducks).  This is a tri-colored heron.
